Why is my print so dark?


Your phone or monitor has a very bright screen that's designed to make your images as bright and vivid as possible.

Your image brightness will change depending on your brightness setting, screen type, screen age, display settings, and many other factors.

Paper and canvas do not have bright screens behind them and use ink rather than light to produce images.


We professionally calibrate our fine art printers to be as accurate as possible. Still, it's impossible to guess customers' screen settings, so your print may arrive a little darker than you expected.



Why have you sent my prints out looking like this?


We understand that mistakes happen, people aren't print experts, etc.


We found that the overwhelming majority of customers actually intended to print their images, knowing they may be a little dark.


That meant delaying prints until we could get hold of the customer, which caused many more issues than it solved.


That's why we trust our customers' judgement and offer free replacement prints if they have a problem.
